impulse
Velocity and acceleration increase the amplitude and energy of a local surface event without reproducing the traveled path.
signal / live study
Do not tell the system what to make. Show it how you mean to act.
Drag, pause, repeat, reverse, return, or change rhythm. Nothing you draw is traced. Instead, the browser measures the behavior of the gesture and turns that reading into a procedural disturbance. The artifact is a record of inferred intent, not a picture of your path.
drag · pause · repeat · reverse · return · change rhythm · nothing is traced
the surface is waiting / there is no prompt to fill in
Pointer and touch commit automatically when released. For keyboard creation, use the arrow keys to move a virtual gesture, Space to dwell, Enter to commit, and Escape to cancel. The stage owns deliberate drag input; normal page scrolling resumes outside the field.
under the surface
impulse
Velocity and acceleration increase the amplitude and energy of a local surface event without reproducing the traveled path.
hesitation
Time spent nearly still compresses the form and increases nested structure. Dwell acts like pressure without requiring pressure-sensitive hardware.
repetition
Returning to previously occupied space reinforces echoes. Repeated movement becomes persistence rather than a darker traced line.
direction
Consistent movement produces directional bias. Reversals and curvature weaken that coherence and let the disturbance fold back on itself.
rhythm
Regular alternation between motion and pause creates spacing and cadence in the residue. Irregular timing produces less periodic structure.
focus
Tight gestures create concentrated transformations. Broad exploration gives the same local event more reach while preserving a quiet surrounding surface.
system
Version zero keeps the inference transparent. A future tiny sequence model should be considered only if it can discover useful temporal structure that these explicit features miss. It should never become a hidden prompt generator or replace the direct causal relationship between gesture and material behavior.
