A mirage is not imaginary light. Real light moves through a real medium and produces an image whose apparent location and identity are less stable than they feel.

Move through the haze, look directly, look around it, and catch the laser as it crosses the figure. After the apparition refuses one identity, flood the field and see what remains.

direct attention is not the same as clear evidence.

The lasers made the figure visible only by scattering through dense fog and refractive heat—the same conditions that displaced, obscured, and changed it. More light eventually dissolved the silhouette instead of verifying it.

found

The mirage was not a false picture hiding one final object. It was a real optical relationship among light, medium, geometry, viewpoint, and expectation; the projection gradually became part of the environment that produced it.

carry

Something can begin as performance or projection and still create real consequences. Repeatedly inhabiting an image can change the person, system, or relationship that first produced it.
